A slim, brown magnetic tape runs lightly through a
half-opened hand, sliding through the fingers as if being
read, and falls to the floor - where it forms a large loop.
The scanning with the fingers and the contact with the floor
leave traces on the empty cassette tape, which is rewound
after the performance for digitization.Sequences without sound are cut out and transferred back to a cassette. The steady rustling sound is then played alongside the video of the performative act in the resulting installation.
Both the concept of the performance and the text, which appears as subtitles in the video, were conceived in the ruins of the ancient city of Messene in the Peloponnese - a silent reflection on temporality, repetition, writing and un-writing.
